As the Christmas season approaches, one might have to search a little harder for some Christmas spirit in Ireland this year.  But if you find yourself in need of some relief from the economic doom and gloom, then a visit to the Solas art gallery in Ballinamore might be just the thing, as the gallery’s group exhibition is sure to delight all who see it.  The annual Christmas exhibition has been a great success for the gallery to date, with all members invited to submit work, ensuring there is something here to suit every taste.  The artists have pulled out all the stops this year, resulting in a truly exciting and varied collection of work.

The exhibition will be opened by Dublin-born artist Carmel Baker.  Carmel has been closely involved with the Solas group since she moved to Leitrim in 2007, and is a regular exhibitor at the gallery.

So why not come along on opening night and enjoy some mulled wine and other festive goodies, or perhaps you might indeed find the perfect gift for someone special.  The Christmas exhibition opens on Friday 3^rd December at 7.30pm and runs until Thurs, Jan 13^th 2011. All are welcome to come along at any time during gallery opening hours.
